Looking at other DDs in May 07:
DD 23-5-07 (pg.1 of MM old case file) says ‘Police know where Madeleine is, British dog finds Madeleine alive, NPIA’, etc.
DD5527 also 23-5-07 says ‘bring the dogs’, etc.
DD 26-5-07 07 (pg.2 of MM old case file) says ‘UK dogs must go’ etc.
DD5551 29-5-07 - ‘Lee A’ & ‘use K’, etc.
I am wondering if the ‘K’ was not complete text & was meant to say ‘use K9’ for K9 dog unit?
I still cant see that Brian has actually written ‘Lee’ on his DD5551, but he translates it as Lee. And it looks like an ‘A’ after it. I don’t think it can be an R’ – but I find it quite a coincidence that the name Lee Rainbow of the NPIA UK comes up in the news now. I’d not seen that name before, but apparently he was in Praia da Luz on the MM case in the early days.
“Criminal profiler Lee Rainbow recommended that police on the Algarve investigate the doctor and his wife Kate because of 'contradictions' in his statement.
The report by Mr Rainbow, of the National Policing Improvement Agency, was sent to Portugal in June 2007, a month after the three-year-old disappeared.”
“Mr Rainbow, 37, leads a team of five criminal profilers at the NPIA, and specialises in sex crimes and murders.”
…”his confidential report appears to have been a turning point in the Portuguese investigation.”
“Madeleine's distraught parents were named as official suspects a few weeks later, despite Portuguese police failing to find any evidence against them.”
